G4S Africa announces that it is investing in a new management structure to support growing demand for its Deposita range of cash management and automation technologies across Africa.

Managing Director of G4S Cash Solutions South Africa, Christo Terblanche, has been appointed President Deposita – International from 1 June 2017, and will lead a team to support the sale of Deposita devices which improve the efficiency of cash handling for a range of companies including financial institutions, retailers and SMMEs.

G4S now has over 6,000 Deposita devices deployed, servicing companies through some of  South Africa’s largest retail banks.  G4S has developed Deposita as a total cash management solution which combines hardware, software and services to assist financial institutions, retail and wholesale customers to reduce costs and the risks of managing cash. The systems allows users to have real time visibility of their cash while ensuring the integrity of all transactions.

Deposita’s international expansion is a major opportunity for G4S to bring innovative cash automation services through Cash360 to our existing and new International customers. Christo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new international role

The latest development in the Deposita range is Mini-Pay  - a smart safe system that holds up to 1,200 banknotes, registering each note securely within it, reconciling multiple deposits through proprietary G4S cash management software. Mini-Pay is the smallest system in the Deposita range.

G4S Africa Regional President Mel Brooks said; “Deposita’s international expansion is a major opportunity for G4S to bring innovative cash automation services through Cash360 to our existing and new International customers. Christo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new international role.”

Christo Terblanche  started his career in the South African National Defence Force in 1981 and was appointed as Manager for the Free State Rugby Union in 1995. He was employed at Coin Security Group as the Managing Director - Assets in Transit in 1998 and promoted to Managing Director - Corporate Services in 2006. In 2008, Christo was appointed as the CEO of Smart Technologies, a role he held for 6 years.
